THANKS!
3308 corianesi they chose me as their mayor for the next 5 years. To all of them thanks for the confidence they have expressed to me. I'll try not to disappoint them in the work to be performed for Coriano in future years.
thanks to coalition partners who have supported me: Democratic Party, Socialist Party, Italy of Values, Refounded Communist.
And finally a big hug to all those who in recent months have been working daily with me and for me to achieve this: who has toured from house to house to distribute the material to people who worked for the organization of events, from who helped to draft the program for those who have contributed to the management of information technology.
Let's face it: it was a tough election campaign, fought (sometimes even with low pitches), certainly challenging. Not always well my team was as compact as I would have liked, but overall I have to thank everyone for the contributions that candidates and political leaders have given me.
The voters made their choice: they chose me as Mayor, elected the council's majority group (11 members) and the minority (5 components). Coriano there was also a simplification of admissions policies (and I do not know if this is good), but certainly the work of the City Council will be more effective and, in respect of the roles of majority and opposition, more responsive the needs of our citizens.
convene the first session of the City Council in the coming weeks. I will use this time to work on the composition of the Board and policy statements that the settlement will do: I want to be clear by now what are my priorities for the coming years.
I read here and there, particularly on sites, statements by opposition politicians concerned about democracy and indignant over the fact that corianesi did not want to incorporate their message for change in the political citizen. Meanwhile I would like to reassure everyone that Coriano democracy does not run any danger (and you can not say the same for a national policy framework rather cloudy and luckily that Prime Minister Berlusconi was stopped by the Italians). And on the other I am delighted that the majority of corianesi have preferred to continue to choose the experience and good governance that has always characterized the Centre-Left governments in Coriano. I've said ad nauseum: there are problems we must face and resolve, but Coriano the overall quality of life is good, the system (made up of services, infrastructure, relationships) works. Ours is a true community, where nobody is left behind and where solidarity is a word that means a lot for our citizens. It will leave from here for my work in the coming years. I do not want to repeat today what I said during the election campaign and wrote in the program given to all corianesi: the work do so much and will be done together with the citizens, in a confrontation and continuous, with the help of all. Then of course choices must be made and I'll try to make them with a clear conscience, that is to meet as many people as possible. Democracy is mediating between interests, sometimes, different. But no decision is worse, and this I do not want to do. I assume, therefore, conscientiously, all my responsibility to grow Coriano.
Mayor Maria Luigina Matricardi
